Meet Jimi

Through decades of global experience working alongside some of the most well-respected culinary and restaurant establishments, fate has brought him to CocoMaya.

Jimi has transformed our menu and taken our food to new heights that is nothing short of incredible. The meticulous detail of plating, the amalgamation of perfectly complimenting flavors through careful experimentation and concepting will simply blow you away.

Our Food

Local produce is sourced and used where possible. Consciously caught BVI seafood is presented when available.

Fusing delightful flavors of South East Asia & Latin America with a touch of Caribbean, the CocoMaya menu is careful, exotic, fresh, vibrant, playful, and delicious. Designed to be served family-style, we combine favorite ‘street food’ dishes with exotic flavors alongside contemporary creations that are sure to entice and delight.   The cuisine is a masterful blend of Asian and Latin and is designed to be ordered family or tapas-style.

You can begin your culinary journey with signature dishes such as Shrimp Lettuce Wraps, CocoMaya House Ribs, or the deep-fried CocoMaya Roll with Tempura Shrimp, Avocado, and Spicy Mayo.   Favorite larger sharing plates are the delicious Pad Thai and the Thai Chicken Green Curry.  Every dish is plated in a delightful way that will conquer your eyes and palate.

Sip on craft cocktails as the sun slips into the ocean.  Favorites like the Lemon Basil Passion Margarita, or our Coco Sour will refresh and help you relax with your feet in the sand or perhaps order a fantastic wine from their extensive collection as you sit on one of the swings at the bar.

Facing West, just minutes from Virgin Gorda’s iconic Baths, CocoMaya rests between giant granite boulders, a white sand beach, and the shimmering turquoise waters of the Sir Francis Drake Channel, an idyllic destination oriented towards the sunset. CocoMaya is perfect to relax and enjoy a slow lazy lunch with a chilled bottle of Rose, or sip on a thoughtfully crafted cocktail and watch the sun melt into the ocean as the beach fire pit blazes beside you. Contemplate or plan your next day of exploring the beautiful British Virgin Islands as you indulge in delights from our menus.

Slate tiles, twisted Leani vines, and exotic timbers, along with a Thatch roof, give CocoMaya its Balinese feel. Architect, Viviana Jenik assisted in pulling these unique natural boulders, indigenous trees, and natural beauty directly into your dining experience.
